public readLine() as String throws IOException
Reads one standard-input line as strict UTF-8, preserving its line terminator and embedded U+0000 scalars. Read-ahead is shared with ConsoleInputStream, so switching to a byte view does not discard input.
Next line, or an empty string at end-of-stream.
