klyn.process.ProcessHandle.sendSignal
method
public sendSignal(number as Int) as Void
Description

Sends a signal to this verified process instance, without descendants. Uses Linux x86 signal numbers: 9 KILL, 15 TERM, 18 RESUME/CONT, 19 STOP. STOP and RESUME require SIGNAL; TERM requires REQUEST_EXIT; KILL requires KILL. Linux uses a pidfd, preserving instance identity across PID reuse. KlynOS implements suspension and default termination; TERM does not imply a cleanup callback. Windows supports KILL and rejects the other signals.

Parameters
ParameterDescription
numberOne of 9, 15, 18 or 19.
Throws
  • ValueException for any other signal number.
  • NotSupportedException if the OS cannot implement the signal.
  • SystemOperationException if the OS denies the action or it exited.
  • IllegalStateException after close.
Example

task.sendSignal(19); task.sendSignal(18)
