klyn.process.Process.start
method
public static start(notnull commandLine as IList<String>, cwd as String = "") as ProcessHandle
Description

Starts a process without a shell and returns after confirmed OS launch. The returned handle owns a reference, not the child's lifetime. Closing it never kills the child. Standard streams are inherited, without capture.

Parameters
ParameterDescription
commandLineExecutable followed by separate arguments.
cwdEmpty inherits the working directory. KlynOS uses canonical absolute ELF paths and an absolute explicit cwd; start an interpreter explicitly for source scripts.
Throws
  • ValueException for empty commands or embedded U+0000.
  • NotSupportedException when the OS has no process launch service.
Example

try task = Process.start(["my-editor", "document.txt"]): print(task.identity.pid)
